James Roque
Co-Founder
James Roque is a director, writer, actor and co-founder of Proudly Asian Theatre. He is a graduate of Unitec's Bachelor of Performing and Screen Arts programme, with theatre credits include Fractious Tash's acclaimed show Titus and the lead role of Sidu in Indian Ink Theatre Company's Kiss the Fish. Outside of theatre, James is an acclaimed stand-up comedian. His television writing and performance credits include TV3's 7 Days and Jono and Ben. He is also one third of the sketch group Frickin Dangerous Bro, touring, performing and writing TV sketch show Only in Aotearoa and their popular podcast. His take on Filipino identity ‘Boy Mestizo’ played to sold out houses and 5 star reviews in 2019 comedy festival across Melbourne, Sydney and NZ.
