SYNOPSIS: A young woman becomes a local hero after stopping a mass shooting at her school by shooting the perpetrator, the school’s own Head Boy. What begins as an interview goes wrong, over and over again, until she gets her own story straight.

Natasha Lay’s Fresh Developments deliverables and mentorship culminated in a filmed playreading taking place at Equity NZ. Although overseas at the time, Natasha was able to tune in live from the UK via video call for her striking new work.

This event was the first time Natasha was able to see her words brought to life, with the extra opportunity of a group discussion post-reading. This engagement brought new fruits to her future ideas and development.

The cast and director described the play as a frenetic, fast paced mystery that keeps you at the edge of your seat - while in turn questioning deeper themes regarding truth and society.

The reading was also recorded in video format for Natasha and her mentors to have a permanent reference of.
